It’s that time of year again, folks! Sheffield Christmas Market is back to help get you into the seasonal spirit with an array of food, drink and unique gift ideas, all set against the festive lights of the city centre.
The markets open on Thursday 14 November and runs until Christmas Eve – Tuesday 24 December and this year has been extended to take in Fargate and Tudor Square, while the festive lights will keep the city centre twinkling until 5 January.
Celebrating Sheffield’s great independent scene, once again there’ll be a whole host of local traders, alongside the much-loved Alpine themed bars, a traditional German sausage grill, Yorkshire pudding Wraps, mulled wine & cider, hot chocolate, churros and many other treats.
Following the opening of the markets, the ‘Crackers for Christmas’ event will present a weekend of festive family fun running Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November, with musical performances, dance acts, panto and street entertainment, plus crafts and storytelling for the kids.
You can also see Sheffield and the market from the sky, with a ride on the Big Wheel, or come and meet the big man himself at Santa’s Grotto. This year you will find grotto in Barkers Pool, along with festive children’s rides, and you can also combine your trip with a visit to Sheffield Theatres to check out their amazing Christmas line up
Sheffield Christmas Market organiser, Julie Wilson, told Exposed: “It’s great to see the footprint of the Christmas Market being extended every year. This year seeing the top of Fargate and Tudor Square being added to the Christmas experience.”
The Christmas Markets will run until Christmas Eve on Tuesday 24 December.
