Visitors to Bishops’ House will be transported back to the 1480s next month as a medieval re-enactment group recreates the Battle of Bosworth.

On 25 and 26 July, the Grade II* listed building at the top of Meersbrook Park will play host to the Lords, Ladies and men-at-arms of the Knights in Battle reenactment group.

Founded in 1973, Knights in Battle has become recognised as one of the UK’s leading medieval re-enactment groups.

A statement on the group’s website said: “Bishops’ House is a perfect location for Knights in Battle to hold a living history event, and that’s precisely what we’re going to do. Expect talks, fights, and anything else our members can think of.”

Visitors can expect costumes from the 1480s, knights training for combat, medieval weapons and more.

Entry is free and activities will run from 10.30am to 3pm on both days.
