Sheffield Wine Week is back this summer for its second outing, and this time it’s pouring even bigger.
Running from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 June, the citywide celebration of all things wine will once again unite bars, restaurants and independent retailers from across Sheffield and beyond and this year, there’s even a a full-blown outdoor wine festival on the Bole Hills.

Wine Week Fest is a new signature event from the organisers and lands on Saturday 21 June, transforming one of Sheffield’s best-loved green spaces into a pop-up haven of wine tastings, street food, live music and relaxed good times. It’s set to be family-friendly too, with activities to keep non-drinkers and little ones happy.
“We’re so excited to host Wine Week Fest at Bole Hills,” said Virginia Myers, co-founder of Sheffield Wine Week and owner of Tenaya Wine. “The idea is to bring the wine industry and Sheffield’s wine lovers together for a relaxed day out. It’s all about trying new things, learning a bit, eating well and enjoying the community in a beautiful outdoor spot. We can’t wait!”

Launched last year by the teams behind The Old Shoe and Tenaya, Sheffield Wine Week was created to highlight the city’s fast-growing wine scene and shake off its strictly beery reputation. Over a dozen venues took part in 2024, hosting more than 30 events – and this year’s shaping up to be even bigger.
Expect tastings, talks, pairings and pop-ups galore from wineries, importers, wholesalers and wine pros from across the UK. Returning names include Bench/La Cave, Elm, Gills & Co, Joro, Nomad Maison, Starmore Boss, and The Wonky Labrador. They’ll be joined by new faces such as Barks Wine Shop, Bullion, The Crow, Konjo, and Rutland Arms, with more being announced in the run-up to June.

“Sheffield Wine Week was born from a simple idea,” said Mike Pomranz, co-founder and co-owner of The Old Shoe. “Loads of Sheffielders love wine – so let’s bring that community together and open it up. Wine doesn’t have to be intimidating or elitist. Let’s explore it together, minus the pretension.”
Tickets for Wine Week Fest are on sale now via sheffieldwineweek.co.uk/fest, with early bird pricing available. As always, Sheffield Wine Week remains a grassroots celebration – any venue championing quality wine is welcome to join in. Events that meet the criteria will be listed on the official website and promoted across @sheffwineweek on Instagram and Facebook.

Many of the week’s events will be free, though some may be ticketed or require advance booking – so keep an eye on the listings. Anyone in the wine trade interested in getting involved can drop the team a line at sheffieldwineweek@gmail.com.
