Regeneration Brainery is unique, it allows us to pass on some of the buzz and excitement we get from the industry directly to young people — Adam Higgins, mentor 2018.
Regeneration Brainery is an innovative and inspiring programme aimed at getting young people into careers in property and regeneration, and they are launching their first Sheffield programme on 28 October.
The programme, which is completely free, lasts over five days and will see participants meet industry professionals and mentors, visit the site of various projects to get a first-hand look at the working environment and undertake a practical project supported by architects, interior designers and landscape architects. The ‘Brainees’ will be invited to join the graduate club on completion of the programme, too.
The benefits
Participants on the course will engage in multiple workplace visits and different working environments from a range of corporate settings to
a live construction site and co working spaces. As well as mixing with other peers and mentors, course students will be introduced to high profile peers in the industry and be given a route into the property and regeneration industry.
Over the past 12 months, courses have been held across Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol with priceless one-on-one mentoring sessions from the people
that shape cities such as Louise Wyman from Homes England and Andy Burnham the Mayor of Greater Manchester. This is knowledge and first hand experience that the Brainees wouldn’t be able to pick up elsewhere. Speaking about her recent experience, 18 year old Aliza Mian said: “The programme allowed me to meet some really great people with similar interests and taught me that to make a good place, you need to consider those that will use it.”
The very first Sheffield programme this autumn. 28 Oct – 1 Nov 2019. Apply online at – regenerationbrainery.co.uk or contact Judi at info@regenerationbrainery.co.uk.
