Sheffield City Council have planned to introduce a new hotel on Pinstone Street, overlooking the Peace Gardens. The Council has now chosen Raddison Blue as its preferred hotel brand to take over the location. Raddison Hotel Group is an upmarket international chain, with hotels everywhere from Warsaw to Bangkok. The brand is known for its personalized service and stylish spaces. The hotel is expected to feature over 150 rooms and will have a prominent location with views of the Peace Gardens.

The hotel forms part of an ongoing regeneration project by Sheffield City Council dubbed ‘Heart of the City II’. The project builds on the original Heart of the City project that kick started the regeneration of Sheffield city centre at the start of the Millennium. Heart of the City II aims to keep existing street patterns and quirky historic buildings, preserving the heritage of the city while adding in striking new architecture and unique outdoor spaces in an effort to rejuvenate the City Centre. The project will see the introduction of high-quality retail, Grade A offices, hotel and residential developments, restaurants and cafés, leisure destinations, parking and stunning public realm spaces.
