Plans have been put forward to develop the Park Hill area of Sheffield into 350 student accommodation flats are set to go before the public this month.

Urban Splash have joined up with student accommodation company Alumno Developments to create swanky new accommodation for students in Park Hill estate as well as new shops as part of Phase 3 of the estate’s regeneration. Alumno are working alongside architects Whittam Cox to add fancy student flats to the grade II-listed buildings. The partnership proposes to create around 350 new student flats for the academic year 2020/21, with the flats designed around four and eight bedrooms with a shared living area in a three-story townhouse model.

Residents in the area will be invited to an exhibition taking place in the Urban Splash office at Park Hill on February 8th 2018 – attendees can learn more about the development and voice their opinions on the project.

Managing Director at Alumno, David Campbell, said “the Estate has an amazing historical structure and importance for Sheffield, and we would like to make a positive contribution to its vibrancy and future life. The views of the community are important so we are looking forward to hearing what people think.”

The launch of Phase 3 follows the successful completion of the first phase of redevelopment which is made up of 260 homes, ten workspaces & the Grace Owen Children’s nursery. The company recently received planning permission for the second phase including an extra 200 homes and landscaping.
