The legendary Paolo Nutini is to begin his UK tour this weekend at Sheffield’s longest-running live music venue, The Leadmill. He will be playing taking to the stage this Saturday 14th May. After being recently released, eager fans did not hesitate to grab tickets for the tour and they have now officially sold out.
It was only yesterday when The Leadmill announced the exciting news on their Instagram page saying that they were ‘absolutely delighted’ to be having the chart-topping Paolo Nutini perform at their venue for his first English show in seven years. After The Leadmill, Nutini’s tour then carries on to London, with four gigs at the renowned 100 Club on 16th – 20th May, finishing up in Oban, Scotland, at the end of the month.
After issuing a statement on its website regarding its forced closure, The Leadmill has received incredible amounts of support from musicians, gig-goers and friends of the venue in order to save the venue from shutting down. They did this by creating the hashtag, #WeCantLoseLeadmill where people share the hashtag alongside their favourite memories they’ve had at the venue over the many years. As well as this, The Leadmill has shared their official petition to stop their ‘unfair’ eviction, which you can sign here.
