A former grocer’s warehouse in Shalesmoor is set for a huge refurbishment and extension after Sheffield city council approved planning proposals.
The Nichols Building will be converted into a mixed-use with a commercial space on the ground level. A mix of 48 studios and one and two-bedroomed residential units are pencilled in for the rest of the building.
Matthew Jacques of Ashgate, the developers behind the application, said “This is a great result for our project and we look forward to making a real contribution to the development of Sheffield’s city centre. HLM have worked tirelessly on these designs and the final results speak for themselves. They have managed to integrate the new developments within the existing structure seamlessly and maintain the unique character of the Nichols Building.”
