Sheffield is set to welcome a brand new open-air social venue this summer, with Earls Yard officially opening in the heart of the city centre next month.
Launching on Matilda Street on Saturday 13 June, the free-entry venue promises a packed programme of street food, live entertainment, DJs, big-screen sport and community events throughout the summer and beyond.

Located behind Network and created by the team behind both Network and Arundel Emporium, Earls Yard aims to bring together food, drink and culture in an accessible outdoor setting for all ages. Organisers say the venue will operate seven days a week outside of special ticketed events.
Timed perfectly ahead of the 2026 World Cup, the opening comes just days before England’s first fixture of the tournament against Croatia on 17 June, with organisers planning to screen major matches across two large LED screens installed on site.
A spokesperson for Earls Yard said: “We wanted to create a space that brings people together – somewhere you can come down for a drink, watch live sport, meet friends for brunch, or just enjoy a summer evening outdoors.
“Earls Yard is about atmosphere, community and accessibility.”

The venue itself will feature a two-storey, 40-foot container bar, with a dedicated cocktail mezzanine overlooking the main courtyard space. Alongside communal seating areas and a live performance stage, organisers say the venue will host DJs, live bands and community-led events across the season.
Independent food brand Pieminister has now been confirmed as Earls Yard’s first permanent kitchen partner, with additional food traders and pop-up vendors expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

A new bottomless brunch offering is also set to launch from Thursday to Sunday, with menus and tickets due to be revealed shortly.
More announcements surrounding vendors and event programming are expected ahead of the opening weekend. Go give them a follow here.
