Juventus are counting on Manchester United
Allowing Juventus to invest into one of Manchester United’s super youth talents, will be a great loss for Sheffield United, but a huge asset to the Bianconeri. Manchester United’s number one goalie no longer seems to be David De Gea, as the Red Devils are yet to agree on a contract, which expires on the 30th of June 2020. In saying that though, Juve are concentrated on picking up one of the most intriguing youngsters currently in England. His name is Dean Henderson, Manchester Utd’s third in line goalkeeper.

He is considered as one of the best potential goalkeepers in England and is being targeted by major European clubs, such as Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Tottenham. But, Juventus are the closest to securing Henderson. The bianconeri are in fact looking for young talents to invest into the future of the club and Henderson is certainly a player being followed with great attention.

Currently at 42 seasonal appearances in the English Second Division Championship, Henderson has already racked up a clean sheet in 19 games. Also, thanks to his great performances, Sheffield is currently in third place, at -3 from second place Leeds, and can quite possibly make a return to the Premier League. Every year, Sheffield United are close at getting promoted, but this year, fingers crossed, it may happen. However, once the loan for Henderson is over, the doors at United could be closed. De Gea who is only 28 years old is likely to not have his contract renewed further than 2020, while the Spaniard’s second, Sergio Romero, is another high-level goalkeeper.

Observations to take not of at Juventus
The same case, obviously, is applicable to Juventus, with Wojciech Szczesny, Buffon’s replacement; and Mattia Perin competing for a starting spot this season. If something was to change this summer, Henderson could represent a legitimate alternative at Juventus. Although Perin is one of the most important Italian goalkeepers on the current scene, the former Genoa goalkeeper, barely gets a run and has consequently lost his place in the Italian national team.

Through Henderson, Juventus aims to improve its goalkeeping department for the future.

Henderson will return to Manchester United in June 2019, to then expire in 2020. The Red Devils do not consider his renewal as an absolute priority, considering that the De Gea has not yet extended his contract beyond 2020 at Old Trafford. De Gea is the priority, with Henderson as the fourth choice behind Lee Grant, Romero and De Gea. Even if Solskjær surprises everyone next summer and brings on the 22-year-old Dean Henderson into top priority, it will be after the sale of the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper. If instead De Gea should be confirmed to remain at Manchester United, for a young talent like Henderson, there will surely be a sale for him this summer.

With Juventus at the door, determined to place an offer on him immediately, or in any case following an official loan. Whatever the outcome, our young Dean Henderson will be leaving us at Sheffield this year.
