From the founders of Chakra Lounge, brothers Sam and Sonny are set to open their latest venture in the early weeks of May.

Offering a modern take on Indian classics, RASA is the latest addition to Sharrow Vale Road’s vibrant and diverse trail of coffee shops, set to be situated between Eve’s Bakery and Pom Kitchen.

Sam, founder of RASA, said: “We went for a coffee at Porter’s, and there was a shop ‘to let’ on Sharrow Vale Road next to “Eve’s and Pom”.
And it was just such a nice vibe, we just rang the person, he was around the corner, and suddenly it was meant to be – we just went for a coffee, and we actually ended up opening a shop.”

Conscious of the ever-growing and bustling coffee scene in Sheffield, Sam, added: “There will be a lot of different changes. We’re not keeping anything the same. Again, it’s Indian inspired with a modern twist. So there will be a few things which will make it different.”

The name, deriving from the Sanskrit meaning for nectar, represents not only the pair’s dedication and love for coffee, but also their love for their family.

Sam expanded: “RASA also represents my mom and dad’s names, RA for my dad, and SA for my mom. So we are quite connected and very emotionally invested in the idea.
And the brand we’re creating.”

Providing refreshments that are blended with Indian spices, Rasa brings unique flavours and aromatic brews to the community.

Avid coffee shop hoppers can look forward to refreshments such as their in-house saffron cold brew and banana bread matcha.

Once up and running, the brothers are hoping to open two further locations in Sheffield over the next 18 months.
