True North Brew Co has announced news of a brand new food market with some of Sheffield’s best independent businesses set to take over the city centre.

A Taste of Independent Sheffield will take over Peace Gardens and Fargate next month bringing together independent traders, producers, makers and artists from across the city.

The markets, organised by True North and Tim Cleasby from Tramlines Festival, will feature several craft, art and food stalls, as well as a live music programme. True North is also hosting its own bar for the event, showcasing some of Sheffield’s finest breweries.

A spokesperson for True North said: “True North Brew Co selected the 21-23 September as this is one of Sheffield’s busiest weekends of the year. Not only will our makers and independent stalls help draw in the crowd, it’s also the weekend university students return to the city and sees the Sheffield 10K return to the city. We are expecting thousands of participants and spectators to come into the city centre for the weekend.”

True North will also be hosting a gin and rum festival as part of the weekend, with more than 100 different spirits on offer and talks from experts throughout the day. Ticket holders for the recently-cancelled Gin Festival will be offered a free drink at the event.

A Taste of Sheffield will take place on 21-23 September on Fargate and at the Peace Gardens in Sheffield city centre, the event is free. More info can be found here
