Oli Sykes has announced details of the opening of a new bar in Sheffield’s popular Kelham Island area.
Church, which is situated in Drop Dead’s headquarters at Osborn Works on Rutland Road, will feature a 200+ capacity live music room, vegan food, tattoos, retro gaming and South American religious iconography. Vegan restaurant Make No Bones will move into the venue permanently after closing down its Chesterfield Road restaurant.
Osborn Works is a traditional Victorian building designed by Sheffield architect William John Hale, who designed a number of religious buildings in the Steel City.
Oli said: “Our building has incredible heritage and I wanted to develop a bar arcade concept that truly celebrated and developed that legacy. We wanted something that fitted with William John Hale’s original and stunning design but provided something to wow 21st century customers. Our strapline is ‘Temple of Fun’ – we provide a whole experience.”
Church opens its doors on Friday 6 July.
