Sheffield’s long-standing department store Atkinsons will be celebrating its 147th anniversary by hosting snooker legend Jimmy White and a full-sized snooker table on Friday 19 April.
The store is giving you the chance to meet the legend and win a cue signed by the man himself.
Manager David Cartwright said: “It’s our 147th birthday and we’d like to invite you to a very special celebration with a Crucible legend. Since we’ve reached the maximum break of 147, but there’s plenty left in us yet!”
The event continues Atkinsons’ year of celebration, having already opened a new menswear department, with the ribbon cut by the Lord Mayor Magid Magid. David said of the event: “Atkinsons boasts an enviable and loyal customer base but we’re well aware we need to attract new audiences. High street retail is facing massive challenges in 2019 but our independence and long history means we’re far more adept to dealing with change than many.
“Atkinsons continues to look ahead and offers a diversity that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Our aim is always to be ‘independent and individual’!”
