A huge range of music and entertainment is set for the city centre over the Tramlines weekend.
‘The Fringe at Tramlines’ returns for a second year on Sat 20 July and Sun 21 July 2019 following a successful launch in 2018. Sheffield city council and Sheffield BID, have created this brand with the backing of Tramlines Festival, allowing revellers easy access to information on the many events happening across the city over the Tramlines weekend. Highlights include free outdoor entertainment at The Fringe Stage at Devonshire Green, an 80s/90s disco at the Peace Gardens, Street performers in Barker’s Pool, a traditional funfair on Fargate and dozens of pubs, clubs and venues across the city featuring bands, DJs and performers over the Tramlines weekend.
The Fringe Stage at Devonshire Green
Organised by Papa Al of ‘The Juju Club’ this Saturday will see a focus on local acts with an international twist and a headline performance from Jungle Lion. Sunday will feature feel-good, sing-along performances, including choirs and funk/soul classics. In addition to a range of delicious food on offer there will also be open cocktail and gin bars and a fully licensed, fully stocked bar from Wet Thee Whistle.
Street Theatre at Barker’s Pool
Some of the biggest names in the festival and street performer’s circuit will be making their way to Barker’s Pool this summer. With a programme arranged by Professor Vanessa Toulmin from The University of Sheffield, with support from Sheffield BID and Orchard Square, Barker’s Pool will also play host to a variety of food traders and a fully stocked bar from the Booze Brothers.
The Peace Gardens
This will be the perfect spot to soak up the unique atmosphere on offer during The Fringe at Tramlines weekend. There will be an 80s/90s disco for anyone who fancies a dance and plenty of deckchairs when it’s time for a cool down. There will also be a helter-skelter, roaming street entertainers and fantastic food that is sure to entertain and fill the bellies of your entire family. Loxley Brewery and the Kinsman Wine Bar will be putting in appearances as well, so do not miss it!
