Independent Venue Week is back on 27 January, 2025, for a week-long celebration of independent arts venues and music. Hundreds of venues from around the UK will be participating, hosting special events, activities and educational opportunities in the process.
Live music professionals, music fans, and artists are encouraged to wear a venue T-shirt this Friday, August 9th to raise awareness and share their photos with the hashtag #VenueTshirtDay.
In 2024, IVW’s artist ambassadors included English Teacher, Brooke Combe, and LEMFRECK, with 205 independent venues hosting a wide range of events. DJs Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq went “on the road,” touring with special performances from artists such as 86TVs, Ash, New Dad, Anthony Szmierk, and Problem Patterns.
Independent Venue Week not only provides opportunities for music businesses and artists but also serves as a hub for learning, culture, art, and fostering community among people of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, and walks of life.
“It’s exciting to open sign-ups today for the 12th consecutive IVW. We want to mark this moment by asking everyone to show some love by wearing a T-shirt from their nearest or favourite independent venue. If you don’t have a T-shirt, please buy one, let a venue know how much you appreciate what they do, and post your photos online with the hashtag #VenueTshirtDay,” commented IVW Founder and CEO Sybil Bell on IVW’s 2025 return.
