Marking the release of his new album Further, Richard Hawley has announced a UK autumn tour including a date at Sheffield’s Octagon on Friday 11 October.
The tour starts at Dublin’s Olympia on 30 September, taking in Manchester’s Albert Hall (7 October), Sheffield’s Octagon (11 October) and London’s Roundhouse (17 October) before wrapping up at Brighton’s Dome on 18 October.
It will be Hawley’s first Sheffield gig since his appearance at the Three Ring Circus in 2017, and his last headline show at the City Hall in 2016.

Speaking to Exposed last month, Hawley discussed his new album Further and moving away from predictability. “When you break away from something that makes you so utterly predictable, it tends to be the talking point! That’s quite funny – one word and, “Oh, why haven’t you done it like that?” I’m still here, I’m still positive; I’m fifty-two years old. I’ve still got a fucking pulse and I’ve got no intention to stop it. I might revisit the whole Sheffield thing. There just seemed to be a full circle with the last record, the whole Hollow Meadows thing: I discovered it was the seat of the Hawley name and all that. On this record there were strict things I wanted to do – real, definite boundaries. I wanted things to be really short.”

Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday (17 May) at 9am, with a pre-sale available from Wednesday (15 May) for those who have pre-ordered the album from his website.
