The likes of Reverend & The Makers, Vicky McClure, Jonny Owen and friends have teamed up to launch a daytime party in Sheffield’s iconic City Hall Ballroom on 23rd December 2023
Are your dancing shoes gathering dust? Do you yearn for the days of yesteryear when your hands were in the air and you boogied the night away? If so, you aren’t the only one.
A group of pals from across the UK have got their heads together to throw a party with a major difference… What if you could do all the above but be back on the settee in time for a takeaway and the telly?
Actress Vicky McClure, Reverend & The Makers, Filmmaker and Broadcaster Jonny Owen, Tramlines co-founder James O’Hara and more are set to launch DAY FEVER! A daytime party of no-holds-barred bangers taking place between the hours of 2pm-8pm, with the first event taking place in the stunning Sheffield City Hall Ballroom this December.
But what about the music? What do you dance to when nobody’s looking? Why can’t Madonna sit next to Madness? Pulp go back to back with Prince? The Stone Roses and The Rolling Stones? And surely every party should end with George Michael?
Jonny Owen summed it up, saying: ‘Don’t grow up! It’s a trap! Great music from across the eras, getting down to your favourite tunes on a packed dance floor, your best mates all around you and done for 8pm, then off for a curry and back in time for Match of the Day!’
The Rev Jon McClure added: “Day Fever is going to be pure joy in a time where we all need a smile on our face.”
With DJ sets from Vicky McClure, Jon McClure (no relation… we think) and Sheffield’s own Pete McKee, who’s also in charge of the artwork, it’s a day of musical delights with you, the punters, at its heart. No knob-twiddling, no navel-gazing, just the biggest records to sing along and lose yourself to on a Saturday afternoon.

Rule 3 – Get ya glad rags on
Rule 4 – No d*ckheads
