The Lancashire Hotpots

Northern, side-splittingly hilarious and bold as brass – The Lancashire Hotopts are celebrating their tenth birthday. Their set at The Greystones will feature the entirety of their debut album “Never Mind the Hotpots.” You can expect to hear the hits that have made them festival favourites.
Roy Bailey’s Birthday Bash
Wednesday 11th October// 7pm// £13
Described by the late Tony Benn as “the greatest Socialist folk singer of his generation”, Roy Bailey’s annual bash is a big date in the calendar for many a folk-lover and often sells out fast. A ‘singer for the people’, his sets has a certain life-affirming quality.
Big Boy Bloater
Thursday 12th October// 8pm//£10
This titan of the R&B scene brings his riotous music to the city. Jools Holland has called him “One of the great Blues men of our time.” Expect a big voice twinned with some exceptional guitar work.
Warner E Hodges + Webb Wilder + Eric Ambel
Friday 13th October// 7.30pm// £13.50
In this set you get three for the price of one – no bad bargain. Instead the trio brings a night of Americana to The Greystones in a night that promises to be wicked and wild.
Sheelanagig
Thursday 19th October// 8pm// £13
This five -piece set brings their unique brand of folk to Sheffield. Influenced by European folk traditions they are known for their often intense live shows which are at turns touching and brimming with an anarchic energy.

Blair Dunlop
Saturday 21st October// 8pm// £13
Hailed as the modern Heartbreaker, Blair Dunlop has been all but chained into the studio producing his latest album, due to be released early next year. This gig represents one of his first forays out of the recording room and offers the chance to listen to some of Dunlop’s latest work.

Part of their In The Round tour this gig offers another triple bill. This is an excellent chance to hear and see how collaborating can work to influence and compliment the work of three distinct musicians.
Jesse Dayton
Tuesday 24th October// 8pm// £13
All the way from Austin, Texas comes Jesse Dayton and his band. Dayton is best known for his work with country greats like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, among others. His distinctive country influenced guitar has earned him a cult following and this is a great chance to find out why.
The Furrow Collective
Sunday 29th October// 7.30pm// £16
Winner of Best Band at BBC Radio 2’s Folk Awards this band has been shaped by their collaborative approach. This has involved mining the rich traditions of the English and Scottish heritage of the different band mates to create some beautiful tracks.
Wild Ponies
Monday 30th October// 8pm// £10
This married couple’s music has a firmly independent streak running through it, transgressing traditional musical boundaries. This set promises to bring a little of their Virginia homeland to the seven hills of Sheffield.
