Media energy production (MEP) are releasing a documentary that is set to premiere at Abbeydale Picture house on the 9th September. ‘Music and Me’ is a documentary showcasing musical talent in Sheffield from both the past and present, interviewing a range of influential characters on the scene including DJ Winston Hazel, producer Eliot Kennedy, DJ Ann D, any many more. The film will showcase the city’s music culture from the 80s/90s through to today, with a wide selection of genres explored throughout.
MEP aim to promote positivity and love by sharing the sentiment that music should be one race, one colour and one voice – “When it comes to music there should be no segregation in our nation,” says founder Sean Osipitan.
Special guest DJ Anton Scarcha Vybz will be performing at the premiere, following live performances from Caroline and the Lights and Rumbi Tauro (the winner of South Yorkshire talent competition Pattern and Push).
The event runs from 7pm-11pm and tickets are available from skiddle.com
