Joe Carnall releases new Good Cop Bad Cop Single ‘Running Away With The Circus’
Sheffield music stalwart Joe Carnall has today released the second single from Good Cop Bad Cop’s anticipated sophomore album, Welcome To The Marble Zone.
Set to be released on April 5, 2024, the album is a departure from the Milburn frontman’s 2019 self-titled debut.
The new single ‘Running Away With The Circus’ “exemplifies the LP’s essence,” says Joe, capturing the struggles of 21st Century adulthood and the need to step away from the world regularly to preserve one’s sanity.
“The Marble Zone is an introspective place where you reflect and think about what’s going in in your life,” Carnall revealed to Exposed back in December. “Sometimes that’s a nice thing; sometimes it’s not.”
The collaboration with producer Gold Teeth results in a diverse sonic palette, featuring playful edits and hip-hop influences. The album reflects Carnall’s personal journey of the past three years, navigating fatherhood, memories, teaching, and loss.
While Carnall gained fame as Milburn’s frontman, Good Cop Bad Cop marked a new chapter, with the debut conceived in 2018 and recorded in Los Angeles. The 2024 follow-up explores synth and hip-hop undertones, offering a timeless sound that bridges past and present.
