Jazz at the Lescar’s new programme is off the scale

Jazz at the Lescar is going on tour with a bunch of gigs coming up at popular Sheffield venues.

Kicking off on 12th August at Yellow Arch Studios is Jasmine, a Leeds-based quintet mixing thoughtful lyricism with dynamic and approachable grooves, with influences from Kenny Wheeler, Soweto Kinch, Bonobo, and MF Doom.

16th August at Theatre Deli features a contrasting double bill of new music from Sheffield. balo will be bringing beautifully interactive and quietly explorative music for harp/drums, and Power Out a vibrant mix of beats, danceable grooves, loops and textures.

Finally, Green Tangerines at Yellow Arch on 2nd September will be mixing urgent grooves, brass riffs and an energetic sax/trumpet frontline, drawing inspiration from 70s jazz fusion.
