Sheffield Britpop legend Jarvis Cocker has confirmed that Pulp will return for reunion shows in 2023, their first in a decade, with drummer Nick Banks also sharing that more news will follow soon.
The Pulp singer and solo artist told fans at a Guardian-hosted talk and Q&A for his new memoir Good Pop, Bad Pop that the band will regroup for 2023.
A 15-second clip shared by Cocker on Instagram last week had the line “What exactly do you do for an encore?”, taken from the title track of Pulp’s 1998 album ‘This Is Hardcore’, which hits its 25th anniversary milestone next year, along with the caption, ‘Good question…’

The video prompted speculationthat a reunion was on the cards. At the book event Cocker said that the post was “deliberately cryptic”.
“It’s a line from ‘This Is Hardcore’… next year Pulp are going to play some concerts!” he said.
Dates and venues are yet to be revealed, but drummer Nick Banks told the BBC the band had a list of “potential” dates and places but could not confirm exact details.
He said it had been a “couple of months” of planning for the Sheffield-based band but everything was yet to be finalised.
Adding: “It was never a case of us all starting calling each other names and chucking our toys out of the pram. The band gets put in a drawer under the bed and you know it’s safe there and eventually it’s going to get resurrected.”
Hey folks, unsurprisingly it’s has all gone a bit mental on here. Gig details will be revealed as and when.
Stay calm, hug your #pulp records and dream of going mental sometime in 2023.

Sounds like a plan, Nick!
