Sheffield dream-pop darlings High Hazels are back with an updated lineup and another belter of a tune.

You sit and tell yourself it’s fine, perfectly fine / That you don’t belong to anyone in particular / Only your mind

James Leesley (vocals and guitar), Scott Howes (guitar), Anthony Barlow (drums), and ‘super-sharp gag man’ Paul Musgrave (bass) return to their melodic best with this laid-back, reflective exploration of loneliness and concealed longing.

The four-piece have been honing their sound at The Nave in Leeds with producer Matt Peel, experimenting with new chord lengths and sounds. Whilst there, the band made good use of the producer’s collection of ‘weird’ vintage instruments hanging on the walls and lending to the dreamy, euphoric feel of the track.

‘Days of No One’ follows the success of 2017’s singles ‘Sequin Eyes’, which impressively held top spot on Amazing Radio’s chart for 13 weeks; and ‘ Joined at the Lip’, which Steve Lamacq repeatedly championed on his 6Music show.
