When it comes to The Greystones, you can always expect an impressive month of live music. Here’s our December top picks…
Sam Kelly and The Lost Boys // Thursday 7th Dec // £13
Since taking the folk world by storm in 2015, Sam Kelly has managed to get four EPs and three albums under his belt. Kelly has joined with musical mix ‘The Lost Boys’ to bring eclectic live harmonies – including banjo, guitar, fiddle and flute.
Fargo Railroad Co. // Saturday 9th Dec // 8pm
After a knock-out show in September, Sheffield’s own southern rock quartet returns to the Greystones this December with a mixture of foot-tapping folk and robust rock.
Otway and The Big Band // Sunday 10th Dec // £14
With cult artist John Otway’s live gigs, you can always expect a night of electricity and pandemonium. This December he’s bringing The Big Band with him – who he recorded his 2016 album with on the Caribbean island of Montserrat.
Moulettes // Thursday 14th Dec // £13
‘We are not The Moulettes, our songs are Moulettes’. Since 2002, band members Hannah, Ollie, Jim and Raevennan have worked relentlessly to create their sharp yet distorted sound. This December will conclude the Brighton band’s multi-layered two year tour.
O’Hooley and Tidow ‘WinterFolk’ // Friday 15th Dec // £14
Yorkshires own folk duo, Heidi and her wife Belinda are showcasing their 2017, 4 star-rated album ‘WinterFolk Vol. 1’. The album includes a mixture of both contemporary and traditional winter songs, which were produced with the help of Radio 2 Folk Awards winner Ben Walker.
