Every so often, the Tuesday Club somehow manage to bring a stratospherically huge yet credible name to Sheffield. Names like Jamie XX, Floating Points, and Jackmaster b2b Oneman b2b Ben UFO remind everyone that they are not only the biggest and best underground student night in the country, but one of the only places in the world where you can see DJs of such calibre on a Tuesday.

This season, the electronic royalty comes in the form Dan Snaith, known for his highly influential work with his band Caribou and solo output as Daphni. Usually reserved for festivals such as Coachella, Dekmantel and Dimensions, Snaith’s DJ sets are few and far between, and rarely more than two hours long, which makes this all-night-long outing all the more special.

After the widespread critical acclaim of Caribou’s third LP Swim in 2010, Snaith launched his solo Daphni alias’ first album, Jiaolong, with singles ‘Ye Ye’ and ‘Yes I Know’ quickly becoming club anthems and a common feature in the sets of Four Tet, Jamie XX and the like. 2014’s Caribou follow up Our Love took his fame to even greater heights, getting an Essential Mix under his belt, and the euphoric ‘Can’t Do Without You’ appearing everywhere from FIFA to Bicep sets.

To get a feel for his taste check out his 1000 track Youtube playlist here.

Daphni aka Caribou plays The Tuesday Club, All night long on Tuesday March 7. Tickets available from www.tuesday-club.co.uk.
