Sheffield band and Exposed Award winners Before Breakfast have announced a weekend of free music on Broad Lane (behind the legendary Fagan’s pub) as part of this year’s The Fringe at Tramlines, on 22–23 July.

The Our Sweet Space event is set to close down the road behind the pub (just like Fagan’s did for St Patrick’s Day) and promises to be a ‘family-friendly and inclusive space,’ featuring a host of dreamy, creative and talented artists, an outdoor bar, tacos by Neepsend faves Piña, and, in their own words, some silly activities.

Speaking about their plans for the event, Before Breakfast’s Gina Walters told Exposed: “Fagan’s asked us to curate an event that would offer up a family friendly, inclusive space where folks could have a good sit down and a Guinness (it is Fagan’s after all), offering a bit of breathing space from the brilliant chaos of Hillsborough and other Fringe spaces.

“It’s gonna be sweet, feminine, sometimes calm, sometimes not, silly and full of carefully booked top-tier music.”

Our Sweet Space

The’re also after a bit of help!

The weekend-long line-up features a diverse mix of emerging and seasoned talent including wonderfully uplifting and glistening harmonies from The Deep Blue, Post-punk, prog-flecked psychedelia from headliners Sister Wives, a refreshingly different take on contemporary soul with delicious guitar from Kindelan, and, of course, Before Breakfast themselves.

Gina added: “We’ve asked a few local acts who we already know and love, but we wanted to bring artists from outside the city into Our sweet Space – some we have known for some time and some we’ve admired from afar.

“Ranging from Ugandan folk-tinged singer and guitarist Daudi Matsiko to Haim-esque pop bops from The Deep Blue (and a couple of wild cards for good measure) we reckon this will be an excellent space to discover your next favourite buzzy act.”
