Local beer haven Two Thirds Beer Co. are attempting to raise over £5,000 for Sheffield’s Children’s Hospital this December!
The Abbeydale Road venue recently launched their first ever beer, Two Thirds Christmas Charity Pale, with Abbeydale Brewery. In the name of Christmas spirit, they are donating all profits from every single can sold to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
Times are tough in the face of the pandemic, and Two Thirds have been closed for longer than they have been open in 2020. Co-owner Ben Stubbs told Exposed: “This is nothing compared to the 3 million pounds funding deficit the Children’s Hospital has faced this year. We want to help as much as we can by donating our £1,000 government lockdown grant for pubs straight to the hospital charity too”.
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to finding the perfect beer this Christmas, with 1000 limited-edition, hand-numbered cans available! They can be purchased online, for collection and delivery, or people can also pop down to their bar-turned-Christmas-shop to grab a couple of cans.
In an attempt to reach their £5,000 target, they are also auctioning off can #001 to the highest bidder. This is the first can off the production line and the first ever can of beer brewed to support the Children’s Hospital. The auction ends this Friday at 9pm and you can place your bid at http://twothirdsbeer.co/charity-auction
Let’s not forget the Two Thirds Christmas Charity raffle. There’s a £500 bar tab up for grabs, and everyone who purchases a can of charity beer will receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win. There are also plenty of gifts generously donated by many of our city’s amazing local, independent businesses.
This Saturday 12th, the crew will be hopping onto the exercise bike outside the bar from 10am, donating £1 for every kilometre cycled. The scrumptious Satan’s Glaze will also be outside slinging out the donuts all day long too, and they’d love it if people would come down to show some love.
“Any support that you can provide would be massively appreciated!” says Ben. “Just sharing the press and social media articles would help us so much in reaching our £5,000 goal”.
