Thornbridge brewery is working alongside JKS restaurants to donate a percentage of profits from their collaboration beer ‘4TH Rifles’ to Hospitality Action in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thornbridge teamed up with JKS restaurants back in Spring 2018 to collaborate on a beer for their brand-new venue, Brigadiers. The idea was to brew a bespoke beer, brewed at Thornbridge with a nod to India. ‘4th Rifles’, a light and citrusy pale ale was born.
Following the spread of COVID-19 and the shut down of bars, restaurants and non-essential businesses across the UK, the hospitality industry has been hit incredibly hard. With all bars and restaurants unable to trade, charities offering support to workers such as Hospitality Action are seeing record levels of demand for their support.
Thornbridge and JKS wanted to find a way to support their industry. As Thornbridge are still trading online (via their webshop Thornbridge.co.uk), offering beer deliveries whilst observing the strictest health and safety rules and observing social distancing, they have decided to donate a proportion of their profit from ‘4th Rifles’ to Hospitality Action. Thornbridge have agreed with JKS to donate £2 from every case of ‘4th Rifles’ sold to Hospitality Action, to give back to the industry.
Simon Webster, co-founder and owner of Thornbridge Brewery says: “Whilst all are facing unprecedented challenges just now we feel its so important to give something back to the industry that supports us. We have a fantastic relationship with JKS restaurants and they welcomed the idea of us donating some of the profits from ‘4th Rifles’ to this worthy cause. We have seen such kindness, generosity and support at this difficult time which is so reflective of the wonderful industry which we are a part of.”
‘4th Rifles’ is a 4.5% citrus led session pale ale with juicy tropical notes. The beer is available exclusively at thornbridge.co.uk and at Brigadiers.
