The Stonegate Pub Company has submitted plans to the council to transform its Reflex venue on Holly Street into a Slug and Lettuce bar.

Reflex has been open in Sheffield for years, specialising in 80s and 90s music with a generally retro aesthetic vibe. Club owner Stonegate Pub Company has taken the decision to close Reflex and reopen the Holly Street venue as one of its more popular bars, Slug and Lettuce.

On the chain’s website, the Slug and Lettuce is described as: “All about getting together over heavenly cocktails for boozy brunches, ladies lunches and wilder weekends with friends. Our high-street bars across the country always have something going on! During daylight hours, we specialise in great value brunch and lunch deals followed by superb sweets to finish. Under cover of darkness, we transform into the perfect meet-up spot to create the ideal atmosphere for a night of partying, dancing, chatting– whatever you’re in the mood for…”

Sheffield council is set to make a decision shortly.
