Broomhill’s Proove Pizza has pledged to give away free pizza every day to a team of key workers, offering Sheffielders the chance to nominate whoever they think are deserving.
Like many restaurants in Sheffield, Proove has switched to a delivery service using the new City Grab app to supply the demand across the city.
Taking to Facebook to announce the news, Proove’s co-founder Deepak Jaiswal, said: “The support shown to Proove over the last couple of weeks has been humbling and we are so proud to be part of our community in Sheffield.

“This support has included amazing messages from staff at the hospitals who love the fact that they can order their pizza after a long shift. There are so many people out there today, working in harms way to protect these communities by providing essential healthcare, distribution, infrastructure, supplies and support. The key workers, our heroes of today. We want to show them how much we appreciate what they are doing.”
As of this week Proove will be donating a tray of pizzas to a team of workers every day from each of its two restaurants – its other site is in West Didsbury, Manchester.
“Working alongside the lovely and generous people at City Grab, that’ll be 15 pizzas sent out and delivered to the door of a team of key workers every day in Sheffied,” said Deepak.
“Tell us about a team you work in or one that you have had help from. Heroes in your community that you think would love a bunch of pizzas delivered to their workplace – they could be a team on a hospital ward or inside a care home, the afternoon shift at the fire station, the evening shift at the local supermarket, your local GP or school.”
Each day, the recipients will be revealed on Proove’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Send your nominations to heroes@proove.co.uk along with the team name and address, contact in the team, 50 words as to why they’ve been nominated and a picture of the team if possible.
