Sod all the Black Friday deals, head down to Pieminister tomorrow and support Black Pie Day in aid of Shelter.
If there’s anything we love here at Exposed it’s pies and puns. And all for a good cause? Just take our money now.
Pieminister first launched its inventive take on Black Friday back in 2015 to raise awareness and funds for Shelter, an organisation that aims to improve housing quality and end homelessness throughout the UK.
This year Pieminister is going the extra mile to encourage sales by baking its Black Pie Day pies in a black charcoal-pastry. The pies that’ve been selected for the upgrade are the vegan pie Kevin (a mushroom, tomato and red wine pie) and Moo (a British beef steak and Gem Ale pie). The pies go on sale from 12pm for £5, all of which will be donated to Shelter.
Director of fundraising at Shelter, Andy Harris said: “This is such a fun idea and a great way to spend money on Black Friday. By buying one of these pies you can show your support for our fight against homelessness and bad housing. The money raised will help us provide advice and support to the thousands of families facing the grim prospect of homelessness this winter.”
We feel pie-ticularly good about this one.
