New veggie and vegan kitchen set to open opposite Dev Green
A new all vegetarian café is set to open on Devonshire Street at 12pm on Saturday 10 December, offering dine-in or takeaway meals packed full of veggie and vegan goodness.
Garden Kitchen will feature a diverse selection of vegetarian and vegan options which can be purchased as affordable meal deals. The café will also feature a ‘live plant wall’ that will be used to grow microgreens included in many of the dishes.
The new café owner, Sol, told Exposed: “We’re very excited to be opening our doors this weekend. We are working with local companies, communities and suppliers to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible.
“We’re aiming to offer a fresher, healthier alternative to your typical chain meal deals while also supporting local industry. We’re sourcing locally, cooking seasonal food and delivering an exciting rotating menu that takes fast food to a new level.”
Kitchen Manager, Rosey, added: “Developing meat-less, comfort food dishes has always been a passion of mine and I can’t wait for customers to try it.
“We have spent a lot of time developing super tasty meals done right, and classic veg options with a twist. Vegetarian or vegan food doesn’t have to be bland and boring, and fast-food doesn’t have to be really unhealthy.
“People are becoming more health and carbon conscious, lessening their meat consumption, and there aren’t many fast food, healthy alternatives in the city centre. We aim to fill that gap for Sheffielders.”
The new venture opens this Saturday and will be giving away free canapes all day.
Garden Kitchen can be found at 158 Devonshire Street, across from Devonshire Green, and will be open six days a week. Go give them a follow on their socials here.
