A husband and wife team from Boston USA have launched a new brewery and taproom in Attercliffe, Sheffield.
Dann and Martha are the former owners of beer brewing company Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project and after a short visit to Sheffield, have relocated from the United States to launch a brand new brewery and taproom – The Brewery of St Mars of the Desert.
On the brewery’s new website, the pair said: “It has been a dream of Dann’s for over 25 years to own his own brewery, and we looked long and hard for a great location to do it, and fell head over heels in love with Sheffield. So that’s why we’re here.
“We have built a great little brewery, supplied and installed by Sheffield-based Moeschle UK, with a small bottling line. We also have an in-house screen printing shop where Martha is printing all the labels for our beers. We’ll talk more about the brewhouse and equipment in an upcoming post. Alongside our 1000 litre brewery in Attercliffe, we are building a small taproom for you to come and visit us. You’ll be able to see the brewery, taste our beers, sit down and relax over a pint (or a third), and buy bottles and kegs to take home. We hope you’ll make the trip to come and see us when we’re open.”
“We have two beers in the tanks fermenting. We hope to be open in the next couple of weeks. So get your woollies on and keep an eye on here to see when we open.”
The brewery’s first beer, Cito, a “hoppy pale golden beer of 4% ABV”, will be released on the opening night of the taproom. Check back with Exposed for the latest updates.
