On Monday (12 November), independent Sheffield hotel Brocco on the Park won big at the prestigious White Rose Awards, which singles out the high-achievers of Yorkshire’s tourism industry.
It was the first time the eight-bedroom boutique hotel (located at Hunter’s Bar) had been entered into the awards, and came away with the Best Small Hotel of the Year award.
The White Rose Awards is the biggest tourism awards ceremony in the UK and adds to an impressive list of Brocco on the Park’s recent plaudits, including a Sawday’s British Hotel award for Favourite Newcomer (2015) and a Good Hotel Guide Cesar Award for Best City Hotel of the Year (2017).
Tiina Carr, the owner of Brocco on the Park was ecstatic at the achievement: “We are bowled over to have come top in our Small Hotel category and to win this award. In a county where the standards for tourism are so high, it’s not just a big win for us, it’s a real accolade for Sheffield and South Yorkshire too”.
The renowned local hotel opened four years ago and mixes a brand of luxury, Scandinavian-inspired interiors with modern British cooking.
