Despite only opening in September of last year, city centre Mediterranean restaurant Cargo Hold appears to have closed its doors permanently.
Reviews left on TripAdvisor show customers disgruntled who are now unable to use pre-booked vouchers from the restaurant and Groupon, with one claiming a meal was booked on restaurant’s website and found the doors to be padlocked shut.
Cargo Hold’s website and Facebook page have now been deleted, with the Instagram page unresponsive to messages. Speaking to Sheffielders who’ve tried to book a table at the restaurant via the TasteCard website, it appears the restaurant had confirmed its closure earlier this week.
Speaking to Exposed shortly after opening in September, owner Shaun Campher told us: “During my 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, I have worked in almost every sector, from kitchen porter to chef, bartender to General Manager and consultancy.
“Throughout this time I have learnt a range of skills that will be invaluable in ensuring the quality of the products sold and service provided remain consistently high, whether it be at Cargo Hold or the many venues we aim to open in the coming years.”
Cargo Hold has been contacted by Exposed for clarification.
