A bustling craft beer haven in the heart of Abbeydale Road’s independent scene, Two Thirds Beer Co. is a dream come true for owners Adam, Ben and Danny.

In late 2018, over a round of cañas on one of Seville’s rooftop bars, three beer-loving mates from Sheffield set out to create a neighbourhood craft beer bar that was friendly, relaxed and served only the finest brews you could find.

Fast forward to November 2019 and the doors were open at Two Thirds Beer Co., boasting 16 rotating draught beer lines, a giant craft beer fridge showcasing over 100 different bottles and cans from around the world, as well as an eclectic line-up of spirits, wines, soft drinks and snacks to enjoy in a laidback and unpretentious environment.

Ben, Adam and Danny – three beer-loving mates from Sheffield set out to create a neighbourhood craft beer bar that was friendly, relaxed and served only the finest brews you could find.

They have transformed the former home of a vegan dessert shop into the ultimate modern but cosy hops paradise. With a warm, softly-lit interior, comfy booths and a giant glass frontage overlooking the bustling bohemian stretch of Abbeydale Road, it’s the perfect place to grab a drink and watch the Steel City go by.

The bar proudly embraces the smaller than usual two thirds pint measure, encouraging visitors to sample a wider range of ever-changing craft beers and ciders. As mentioned, the concept emerged during a trip owners Ben, Danny and Adam took to Spain, where the caña (a small glass of beer) is the standard serve for drinks. Naturally, good beer is of the highest importance, but the bar also has a cracking line-up of gins which are served in their oft-admired retro gin balloons.

Situated right at the centre of Abbeydale Road’s popular and vibrant independent quarter, the bar has fast become a favourite of both locals and beer enthusiasts alike. The indoor tables and popular European-style outdoor terrace are regularly packed on weekends and for post-work drinks, so heading down early is a must!

Lockdown also saw Two Thirds launch their online shop, offering the largest selection of takeaway craft beers in Sheffield as well as freshly canned draught beer (all delivered to your door if you live local!) – perfect for boozy gifts, or to treat yourself to the ultimate night in! Keep an eye peeled as there are some exciting expansion plans already in place for next year, starting with the launch of a kitchen in early 2021. We’ll raise a glass to that!
