As the nights get darker, so does the booze! The Devonshire Cat is hosting a special Black Friday event on 23 November with a night of dark, strong stouts and porters.

The Abbeydale Brewery pub said: “It is once again that time of year when we celebrate all things dark beer! Join us for a selection of high ABV stouts and porters on both keg and cask to warm your body and soul as the cold winter nights draw ever closer.

“We’ll be announcing a different beer from the line-up every week up until the event so keep your eyes peeled to stay up to date with all the delicious goodies!”

Among the beers already announced, Tiny Rebel’s Imperial Puft (a 9% marshmallow porter and apparently one of the lower percentage beers on the line-up – yikes!), a collaborative effort from Dutch brewers Brouwerij de Molen and Scotland’s Fyne ales and a 12.9% imperial stout from America’s Oskar Blues Brewery.

The event kicks off at 5pm on 23 November and is free entry.
