A venture from the people behind Tamper, The Depot Bakery and Kollider Projects, Kommune has been described as the city centre’s new social destination have and forms part of a bigger regeneration project of Castlegate area.

The new 16,000 sq ft food hall, located inside the old Co Op Castle House building, will bring together independent kitchens, brewers and retailers in a unique urban space at the heart of Sheffield’s old city centre. After months of teasers, Kommune has officially revealed its full line-up and opening date. With a fair amount to take in ahead of the grand unveiling, here’s five things we know about the new social hub so far.

IT’S OPENING REYT SOON
The new social hub, which has 10 food traders (see below for them) a bar and retail traders all in one gaff, is set to open to the public on the weekend of 22 March, bright and early from 9am. Set yer alarms, folks.

A mix of Sheffield and UK-wide street food traders, Kommune’s food line-up is something special. The full line-up has finally been confirmed, with Depot Bakery (coffee, pastries, patisserie…), Pom Kitchen (Australian-inspired plant-powered food), Tamper Coffee (speciality coffee), Chaat Cart (south Indian-inspired food), Shoot The Bull (rotisserie and grill), Yoki (exciting Korean soul food), JH Mann (fresh fish)  MorMor (mix of Middle Eastern, North African and Mediterranean street food, pictured), Baked in Brick (freshly-made pizzas and Fat Hippo (indulgent burgers).
