Whirlow Hall Farm will be holding their annual Farm Fayre on Sunday 10th September.

The day will be jam-packed with family-friendly activities, from magical children’s writing workshops, courtesy of Grimm & Co’s Apothecary, to circus skills with Greentop Circus.

Learn about life on a farm with the NFU ‘Discovery Barn’ – including the opportunity to milk a cow! The Time Travelers – a local amateur archaeology group who won a Heritage Lottery bid to investigate the Romano-British site at Whirlow Farm Hall – will also be offering exciting archaeological activities.

The Farm’s animal handling barn will be open all day, and the team will be there to answer any questions. If you’re after some more exotic animals, All Critters Great and Small will introduce you to a menagerie of snakes, spiders and creepy crawlies.

In case that’s not enough animal encounters for you, there will also be dog shows, pony rides, and falconry and beekeeping demonstrations. Punch & Judy will also be offering traditional children’s entertainment, with magic and balloon-modelling.

Sentinel, the Exposed 2017 Local Brewery of the Year, will be hosting a pop up bar. Wash down your pint with street food from Dim Sum Sue, grab a slice from the Netheredge Pizza Company, or pig out with Famous Whirlow Hog Roast and BBQ. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get your hands on local produce at the craft and farmers’ market.

Whirlow Hall Farm works with thousands of children across South Yorkshire, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs, to allow them to experience the countryside and develop to their full potential.

Entrance is free for children (although some activities will be at extra charge), and £6 for adults. For more info, head here
