With Supertram facing industrial action over the weekend of the festival, Tramlines has issued a travel update advising festival goers how to get to and from the Hillsborough Park area.
Over the weekend, there will be a limited tram service running between 7am and 7pm. The trams (blue route) will serve Sheffield station and the city centre, but will only head out to the Hillsborough tram stop which is just a short walk away from the park itself.
There is a bus replacement service for the yellow route, with ticket holders being advised to get off the bus at any stop near the festival site. These buses will pick up people from Parkside Road and take them back into the city centre from 8pm on Friday and Saturday and 6pm on Sunday. Drop-off will be at Snig Hill in the city centre. Tramlines has advised against driving to the festival site, with no proper drop off point or parking.
A limited number of day tickets on sale during the weekend from the Box Office located at the VIP gate on Penistone Road, this is also the location for all guestlist and competition winners. The Box Office is open from 1.30pm – 7.30pm on Friday and 11am – 7.30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Attendees are encouraged to bring sun cream and water (up to 500ml in sealed bottles). Large bags, food, alcohol, BBQs and illegal substances are not permitted on site.
Friday the site opens at 3pm and attendees must be in the queue by 7.30pm before the gates close at 8pm. On Saturday and Sunday, the gates will open at 12pm and last entry is 7.30pm.
Keep an eye on our dedicated Tramlines page for updates across the weekend. As usual our daily newspaper, the Tramlines Times, will be published and distributed every day at the festival.
