Code’s secret location
Code, one of the city’s best known nightclubs, is keeping its cards close to its chest this year with a secret location for its huge outdoor rave. Muzik – the brains responsible for bringing some of the best underground artists to the Steel City – will be presenting Twister Wonderland on Saturday. The crowd can look forward to performances from Hot Since 82, Solardo, wAFF, and Jhonsson. Location TBC.

Pop-up cinema at Orchard Square
Orchard Square, one of Sheffield’s most popular retail outlets, will be celebrating this year’s Tramlines Fringe fest with a pop-up cinema experience. Alongside the 24ft screen, there’ll be indulgent street food, a bar, deckchairs, and the showing of an iconic Hollywood classic: Grease. The event starts at 8.30pm on Saturday, with the film starting at 9.45pm tickets are £5; this one’s not to be missed. For more info, head here.
Momentum Day
Down on Western Bank at The Foundry, Studio and Fusion (part of the University of Sheffield’s Students Union), PRS Foundation will be hosting a ‘Momentum Day’ on Saturday 22nd July, from 12pm until 4pm. Members of the public, bands and musicians can drop by for advice on music funding and how to pursue a career in the industry. With tips from experts up-for-grabs, this is the ultimate free event to help celebrate the music industry and all the opportunities it affords.
On the day, the line-up includes roundtables and Q&A sessions with Momentum Music Fund beneficiary and Sheff local MC Coco (pictured), Neil Hargreaves of Aggressive Management, Brendan Murphy of Arts Council England, and a number of representatives from DIY magazine, Adapter Management and PPL. There will also be the opportunity for artists to pitch ideas to members of the PRS Foundation and Arts Council England. As the part the PRS, the UK’s leading funder of new music and talent development, the Momentum Music Fund has supported over 170 artists, over 80 new albums and more than 100 UK tours since 2013.
