First there were Polaroids, then vinyls, 2018 may be the year of the board game. Enthusiasts, or those that just want to have a bit of nostalgic fun can get down to the Hilton Hotel on Sunday the 18th for a charity day of games called ‘Roll With It’.

Local gaming club Sheffield Board Games Society will run demonstrations of games from their own collection and you can expect some raffles and competitions as well as a stall run by Sheff gaming store Patriot Games.  The event will raise money for the charity Wellchild, the national charity for seriously sick children, last year saw 100 people come along to raise £1000 and they’re hoping this year can be even bigger.

The games kick off from 10am through to 8pm. Tickets are £5 for adults, £4 for Children, £16 for Family Tickets and £5 X-Wing tournament (this is in addition to your regular ticket). You can buy in store at Patriot Games or online at  www.patriotgames.ltd.uk  for more info check their Facebook page.

If you’re in need of a bit of practice before the day, you can play at recently opened board gaming spot Treehouse Cafe, here’s what happened when we went down to play against the pro’s!
