Entering The Tuesday Club you can instantly sense the huge level of anticipation as the crowd await grime legend P Money. The back room cautioned off leaving the whole crowd pinned together in the main room, gripping plastic cups of frothy beer, eagerly bopping their heads in unison. The MC warms the crowd, his voice pulsing through the speakers vibrating the eardrums of the multitude of on-lookers. Previous to this, resident DJ Andy H had stirred up a sparkling buzz of drum & bass and jungle, wetting the whistle for what is yet to come.
As P Money enters, the crowd once half-buzzed and tame, erupts into a plethora of jumps and screams, electrocuted by the opening bars popular track ‘Gunfingers’. The ante’s upped as P Money frenetically takes to the mic, exemplifying his talent for high speed flows to ‘Mans Involved’, ‘Welcome to England’ and ‘Panasonic’.
Joining P Money is genre-blending pint sized DJ Barely Legal. The artist made a name for herself on the underground scene for her trademark mixes of jungle, grime and garage, also appearing on a host of killer Boiler Room and Fabric mixes. Once P Money finishes his lively set, responsibility lies with the DJ once named ‘a giant rock star in a small body’ by Big Narstie to keep the momentum. Unsurprisingly, her mix of DnB, grime and garage does not disappoint as fans continually thrash into each other senselessly to the wild combination of genres; Barely Legal frequently employing the tactic drawing in the crowd with songs they know then firing an underground dubstep tune at them see the reaction. She keeps the crowd going all night and rounds off another huge night for TTC.
