Sheffield city centre’s Orchard Square has announced it has signed up Simulation Station as its latest attraction, and first of its kind in South Yorkshire.
The unique simulated motor racing experience is now open, and is firmly in the driving seat with visitors keen to try out the immersive, action-packed, experience.
Family and friends can choose to race each other on world famous, laser-scanned tracks with more than 100 cars to choose from.
Realistic interiors with surround sound audio and large triple monitors giving an impressive 81″ view make sure that every contestant is on the road to a fun day out.
The new venue will also host a car-themed bar for visitors with funky furniture and racing memorabilia where they can enjoy a relaxing drink – making it the perfect family get together, party venue, or work gathering.
Simulation Station owner and Sheffield-er, Daniel Eshelby explained how he came up with the concept: “I’ve loved motorsport ever since my dad bought me a go-kart when I was 13 years old. As a teenager we travelled up and down the UK racing at different tracks and I went on to manage a kart track for several years.

“Karting is seen as the gateway to motor sports but it is very expensive, and the cost can put off a lot of people.
“My ambition with Simulation Station, having visited over 30 kart tracks from Northern Ireland right down to Cornwall, is to launch and nurture the new grassroots of motorsports, offering a much cheaper way to enjoy and get involved in a competitive motorsport without compromising on enjoyment – and where better to start that in Sheffield and my home region of South Yorkshire?
“Orchard Square offers Simulation Station the perfect city centre location with high footfall and a great reputation for attracting families and visitors of all ages – we’re looking forward to the journey ahead!”
Shay Murray, Orchard Square Manager added: “We’re delighted to welcome Simulation Station to Orchard Square – a unique racing experience you will find hard to match without actually getting behind the wheel of a racing car.
“We know parents in particular are always looking for the next big thing for birthday parties and celebrations, but this is a completely new experience that will wow both adults and kids alike.”
Prices start from as little as £10 for a practice session, going right up to the more formal Grand Prix (practice, qualifying and a race) experience.
