Abbeydale Road Beer Festival is coming to, yes you guessed it, Abbeydale Road this week, showcasing some of the city’s finest beers across nine venues from 5 – 7 August.

Sheffield’s best breweries will be on hand all weekend, along with Head Brewers, Brewery owners and staff, to talk people through their choices. There will be DJ sets in several venues and The Bear has even got a pizza truck on Friday and Saturday.

Picture House Social are planning a beer pub quiz on the Sunday night and once finalised, the venue’s schedules we all be available through the event’s website.

Pints of Sheffield, who have organised the event, are also relaunching A Pint of Sheffield, a beer designed by the people of Sheffield through several Instagram poles. This beer has been re-brewed especially for this event and 50p from every pint sold will be going to Mill House Animal Sanctuary. It will be on in all participating venues.

Festival goers can even claim a limited edition, hand printed Abbeydale Road print by undertaking the hardship of buying a drink in each of the participating venues over the three days and collecting all nine stamps. Each of the prints is created individually, meaning no one else will have an identical one to you.

Speaking of the event, Pints of Sheffield’s Joe said: “I’ve been looking forward to this for months. It was a big challenge to take on board by myself but everyone has been so supportive and I want to thank everyone who’s helped me make this beer festival a reality. It’s all about supporting the local economy, raising money for Mill House Animal Sanctuary and encouraging people to drink local beer when they’re out and about in Sheffield.

“A massive thank you also goes to Tom J Newell for creating this epic design especially for our event. Prints will not be printed until after the festival and sent to each recipient’s address. This is a free beer festival and we need to cover our costs, so we ask for a small contribution of £10 to cover the hand printing and posting/packaging.”
