Sheffield Cathedral is joining with local charities, schools and businesses to bring Christmas cheer to the people of Sheffield with their annual Christmas Tree Festival, this year sponsored by etiCloud and Utilita Energy.
Admission to the festival is FREE and visitors will be able to vote for their favourite tree, with the sponsors of the two best-dressed trees to receive a cash prize.
The festival runs until January 2 and you can visit from 10am – 4pm, making it a wonderful way to give back to the city while getting into the Christmas spirit – and great fun for the whole family during the school holidays!
More than 30 trees are featured in this year’s event, including ones decorated by local charities such as Bluebell Wood Hospice, St Luke’s Hospice Sheffield, The Children’s Hospital Charity, and Weston Park Cancer Charity.
Utilita’s tree will have mini Christmas jumper decorations that children can help themselves to and decorate at home for their own tree, supporting their ‘Wear Warm’ campaign.
After the festival, all the trees will be chipped and disposed of in an environmentally-friendly way with the chipping company to make a donation to The Children’s Hospital Charity.
