Tonight’s the night, GBBO is back, and there’s not one, not two but three Yorkshire contestants this year.
Representing Sheffield in the Channel 4 show is Luke Thompson, a Civil Servant and house and techno DJ who has played at Fez Club and various bars around town. Thompson has said of the show “I didn’t watch Bake Off until two years ago and then my friends pressured me to apply and I thought ‘yes, let’s give it a go’… I also love to have music playing and always have my sous-chef (aka my dog Oscar) waiting patiently by my side for something to drop on the floor that he can eat before I have a chance to stop him!”
Joining him are a research scientist from Rotherham, Rahul Mandal and Karen Wright, an in-store Sampling Assitant from West Yorkshire.
Great British Bake Off begins tonight on Channel 4 at 8pm.
