On Tuesday 29 October, the University of Sheffield will be hosting an audience with former England international footballer Dave Thomas and renowned football manager Harry Redknapp to raise money for the charity Guide Dogs. Dave and Harry will share stories about their former playing days as well as discussing how Dave became the first former top-flight footballer to be registered blind following his playing career and be awarded a guide dog. Audience members will be able to ask questions by tweeting @ShefUniEvents with the hashtag #ThomasRedknapp. Ex-professional footballer and businessman Paul Fletcher MBE will be asking the questions submitted by audience members. The event starts at 6pm at the Octagon and is free, although donations will be collected for Guide Dogs. There will also be a raffle on the evening. Signed copies of Dave’s new autobiography Guiding Me Home And Away will be available on the night. Dave is donating all royalties to Guide Dogs.
