Sheffield Food Festival @ Various City Centre Locations – 27-29 May
The city centre is all set to be filled with an abundance of tasty treats at this year’s food festival. The family-friendly festivities will be bringing back previous favourites and introducing new stalls for this year’s mouth-watering weekend long haul of food; not to mention the all-new Eats, Treats & Beats Village which is set to carry on the celebration of food into the night. Sheffield Gin Festival – 27-28 May
If bank holiday screams ‘gin o’clock’ to you then quaff in style at Sheffield’s-own independent festival dedicated to the stuff. Taking place across the O2 Academy, a ‘secret gin bar’ and various other venues for the pre/after-parties, the event runs over the weekend and gives you the chance to try a huge selection of gin brands, take on cocktail masterclasses and stuff yourself with food from the wide selection street vendors on offer.

Aqua-Tek @ Magna – 27 May

Yellow Arch Sharrow Festival Fundraiser @ Yellow Arch Studios – 27 May
Yellow Arch Studios are hosting a ‘pay as you feel’ fundraiser in support of the fantastic Sharrow Festival. The event will run from 4pm until the early hours, with an exciting mix of bands and DJ’s showcasing the best reggae, afrobeat and funk and soul the city has to offer. Authentic Caribbean cuisine will be on offer throughout courtesy of Bang Chef.

Royal Rumble @ The Royal Standard – 27 May
If your idea of bank hol bliss is huge fix of live music then look no further than the Royal Rumble event at The Royal Standard. The outdoor all-day festival will see 16+ bands playing across two stages, with local faves such as Southpaw, The Leathernecks and The Harringtons featuring on the lineup. Thornbridge Brewery Social @ Riverside Brewery, Bakewell – 27 May
Thornbridge’s Riverside Brewery will be opening the doors to beer-lovers for the day, offering a selection of ten keg and cask beers – including both old favourites and their rarer brews – being poured a stone’s throw from the Brewhouse. Tours of the brewery, live music/DJs and food provided by top street vendors such as Nether Edge Pizza Company, Eats & Beats and Pie-Eyed will also be on offer.

The London Disco Society @ The Harley – 28 May
The Harley welcomes high-energy party specialists The London Disco Society to Sheffield for a bank holiday spesh. Promoters Mango Disco have been trying to book the globetrotting disco-funk outfit for a while now, and with explosive sets from LDS DJs Naked Jake, Cordz and Tim Ross in the pipeline their persistence look set to pay dividends.
